New work ideologies blur the boundaries between work and leisure, bolstering the illusion of endless productivity, reframing work as passion and re-casting the worker as an agent of their own exploitation. Care work, advocacy and other forms of invisible labour are disproportionately allocated along gendered and racialised lines, significantly affecting the amount of time and energy remaining for rest and personal fulfillment. DICE explores new strategies for stepping outside these logics, developing new concepts of work and strengthening our daily practices. You can find more information on this year’s DICE Conference + Festival here.
