Who’s fighting for the rights of the LGBT community in Taiwan? Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) groups & organizations range from social and support groups to organizations that are political in nature. Some groups are independent, some are more radical than others, some are aligned with other bigger umbrella or religious organizations.

LGBT Organizations Taiwan:

Gender/Sexuality Rights Association Taiwan. We are a group of people who have long been concerned with and worked for gender issues and sexual rights. “We” includes lesbians and gays, transgendered persons, multi-sexuals, sexual dissidents, gender/sexual rights activists, AIDS activists, human rights activists, students, lawyers, teachers. Among our core workforce are several experienced social movement activists whose trajectories began in liberal women’s groups and later moved on to more focused work with gender and sexual minority rights issues.


Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association was founded in 1998 and is now the oldest and the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) organization in Taiwan. Hotline is dedicated to achieve equality and provide resources for the LGBT community through creating public dialogue and gender inclusive sexuality education.
