Sweet Movie

Film Review // by Stella Andrada Kasdovasili // On January 25th, 2019, Dusan Makavejev, one of the most prominent figures in Yugoslavian film history – and one of my favourite directors —died at the age of 86. The news of his death had somewhat of a reflective effect on me and I couldn’t help but think of his diverse work.

No Date, No Signature

Film Review // by Stella Andrada Kasdovasili // No date, No signature (Bedoune Tarikh, Bedoune Emza) by Iranian director Vahid Jalilvand is an intense moralist drama, tackling social, political, economic and gender issues in a beautifully depicted neorealist way.

Queer Cinema of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan

Thanks to a post by Scott E. Myers in the Queer East Asian Studies group on facebook I got inspired to publish a list of queer cinema feature films, some of which you can stream online, from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. So I think I’ll be busy watching these, the next couple of days. If you know more movies please add them in the comment section.
