01.04.2018 12h Easter Brunch with performance by Melanie Menard + concert by Ignatz Höch + DJ set with yours truly very serious and sid precious

Ignatz Höch plays bitter sweet gender trouble, rich toned doompop and minimalist show tunes. Created in the wake of poisonous political climates, this is an amalgam of Xiu Xiu and Judy Garland suffering from future sickness. Ice cream in a world of pepper spray.

Melanie Menard‘s performance ‘Tricyclic Transform’ spans photography, video and performance into a solo queer musical cabaret show. ‘Tricyclic Transform’ theatricalizes the genderqueer experience by documenting the creation and self-destruction of my ‘biologically-challenged drag-queen’ alter-ego Miss Liliane.

They try to negotiate restrictive gender-roles by performing symbolic rituals, but the inability of their mind to comfortably inhabit any predefined role causes them to get trapped in an endless loop of repeated, pointless gestures. ‘Tricyclic Transform’ presents gender as a cyclical spectrum: Miss Liliane tries on gender identities as they try on clothes and body language. But each time new inner conflicts arise, propelling them further round the gender wheel, until they come back full circle, to a genderless, endlessly questioning, naked body.

06.04.2018 19h Finissage concert by Nansea and more music by DJaaane

Nansea is the musical moniker of Berlin-based artist Marek Polgesek. He mixes classical elements of piano and guitar with an angelic voice that occasionally lands him in countertenor territory. Marek creates a unique baroque pop sound that goes beyond the traditional singer-songwriter style. Don’t be surprised to hear nods to electronic influences with beats imitating drums, wind, or strings.

His lyrics deal with his own life as a gay and genderqueer person, his relationships, and his experiences with members of his community and with the heteronormative majority. His central theme is suffering as an integral part of life and as a force to brings us together as sensual and emotional beings.
