Video design for ‘Orlando’ at Wiener Staatsoper
DISCOVER EXCITING PROJECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES!
Call for submissions by everyone and any body(s) who identify as; queer, gender fluid, non-Binary, transgender, LGBTQ+, transgender, kings, queens, genderqueer artists to share a personal expression of their identities.
We are looking for video “self-portraits” that celebrate identity – videos should be 30-60 seconds and can include multiple people – any visual style (serious/experimental/performative/vlog) is suitable, to be inclusive of all personal and artistic expressions – the deadline is midnight Sunday 24th November 2019
Submissions will be used in the video design for the world premiere of ORLANDO at The Vienna State Opera, composed by Olga Neuwirth and based on the book by Virginia Woolf.
These videos will be played back on LED screens and projection across the entire stage, to form a large video ‘installation’ – it will happen during a scene that features the artist Justin Vivien Bond, to music composed by Olga Neuwirth.
We will not use your submission for any other purpose, only as part of the staging for this production of Orlando – due to the nature of video design, we are unable to playback audio and may have to edit clips for staging purposes.
Filmed submissions (but can be any media, as long as it is rendered as a film format, e.g you could film words you have written)
DEADLINE – 24/11/2019
Please upload your submissions to Wetransfer.com or a video
hosting site (YouTube, Vimeo etc.) and send links to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, concerns or further curiosities about this project, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Also: Don’t ever expect that people do things for you for free. When interacting with other people on PROPSLIST be open about your intentions, ask, negotiate fairly and respect a no.
